Full Name: Mark Noah Cohen
Age: 26 years old
Playby: Anthony Rapp
Occupation: Freelance filmmaker
Location: Manhattan/Alphabet City, New York
Typically Played: Post RENT [1990 and beyond]
Relationship Status: Single [and pining after a certain rock musician]
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Family: Parents are divorced and both living, one sister [I usually headcanon her to be his twin], a brother in law, and several nieces and nephews.
Close Connections: Roger Davis [Best friend, the man that Mark's secretly in love with], Maureen Johnson [ex-girlfriend, dated since high school, still close friends], Joanne Jefferson [close friends], Mimi Marquez [close friends], Angel Dumott-Schunard [close friends], Tom Collins [close friends], Benny Coffin [formerly friends, was roommates in college and when they moved to Alphabet City]
Other Connections: April Ericsson [Roger's former girlfriend who committed suicide, Mark used to adore her as a friend until she died and he saw the effect that it had on Roger], Alexi Darling [Mark's former boss at Buzzline, not a huge fan of her],
Fandom: RENT
Notes: I don't go by the movie due to the fact that I feel like the writing for the movie was horrible. It flattened the characters, made their relationships non-existent, cut out important scenes and dialogue, and butchered certain characters [Maureen and Joanne]. Plus, it romanticized the toxic relationship between Roger and Mimi and it majorly toned down Roger's temper, which is a huge part of his character. If you haven't seen the stage production, I'm more than happy to help point you in the direction of the proshot. It's absolutely fabulous, I promise.
